Let me just put it this way: LG and I will be reading "the terrible horrible" (aka Alexander and the Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day this evening). Because we are having a terrible horrible.
Sorta goes like this: First LG refuses to get out of bed. Then LG demands that her mother pick out her clothes while her mother is in the process of injecting herself with PIO, and then starts screaming when her mother doesn't immediately respond. LG demands to get dressed in the same place as her mother, but her mother is already dressed and working on making lunch. And figuring out where the fuck LG is going for her half day today, as we received a bill that indicates she can go to her usual childcare arrangement, even though I was told there wasn't space and had to find an alternate. LG's bus then comes 10 minutes late, which makes her mother 10 minutes late to work. And let's just say that LG's mother is walking more than a bit slower than usual these days. Fucking PIO.
Did I mention that yesterday LG started screaming I just need to grab something and break it? for no apparent reason? At least the kid knew what she needed, but perhaps a child psychologist is in her future. There is no question: LG is her mother's easily overstimulated, hypersenstive daughter.
Fucking Wednesday.
Ugh. It does, indeed, sound horrible & no good.
ReplyDeleteThough I'm not sure I could have kept myself from laughing at her "i just need to grab something & break it" declaration. Yep, LG - I can relate!
Hope today's a bit better for you both.
I've had the urge to laugh at these explosions quite often (like when she was three and just beginning to figure out threats and said 'if you don't do X, I'm going to lay down on the floor and go to sleep' [please do, tantrum girl!]). But yesterday's thing was really freaky. She recognized she was completely out of control and unable to calm down; I'm glad she recognized it but the first words out of my mouth were 'you cannot grab me or the cats. grab a chair. grab a pillow....' Eventually she shredded the recycling, ate dinner, and calmed down.
ReplyDeleteHang in there - Wednesday's almost over.
ReplyDeleteYou can do it!! How can anyone be mad at LG.. she is so honest and smart!
ReplyDeleteOhmygoodness - "I just need to grab something and break it"??? - that is priceless! I love it and I feel the same way a lot of the time! Forget the psychologist! Perhaps a punching bag is in LG's future! I'm sorry that it was such a lousy, rotten, no-good Wednesday. I hope Thursday is better for you both.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Maddy
