The Reign of Terror

There are a few things I've learned I can count on about early pregnancy.

1. Despite what the books say, I gain a pound a week the whole damn time.
2. Things taste/smell weird. I'm convinced that my kitchen sink smells like pesticides.
3. Spotting. Oh, the spotting.

Fuck. Calling Dr. G's office momentarily. Needless to say, I'm not going to yoga this morning.

  2. Hey hey hey.

Hold on to your heart as much as you can. You know this is the deal for MANY, many healthy pregnancies.

    Many. But make the call.

That line was dark as night. You look great.

  3. I know that you know bleeding is common, but that doesn't mean we don't freak when it happens. Hopefully you can get some reassurance.

  4. Anxiety on top of anxiety - I really hope this spotting is the worst thing you have to deal with this pregnancy - after all you've been through to get here, you deserve a calm and uneventful pregnancy!

  5. Well, I got the usual speech from Nurse of the Everchanging Nickname. Very common. Possibly due to cervical irritation. Take it easy. Drink water. Call if it gets worse. Blah blah. It's pretty much stopped....but what's scary is I've had things that start like this turn into MAJOR bleeding episodes. And it's kind of hard to quantify/qualify given all the blue/yellow pills I'm currently shoving well, you know where.

I do take some comfort in the fact that the only pregnancy that did not involve spotting was the one with the lowest beta. Stilll...not fun.

  6. Hang in there. I will be praying for you and Baby #2. Take it easy today and have a great weekend. I hope you are not working.

  7. Thanks for your comment on my recent blog post! And I'm happy to read the spotting has stopped... I can only imagine how stressful that is.

Did you write any posts about your decision process in moving to donor eggs? If you did, I'd love to read them!

  8. SM2b...yes, many. I probably started discussing it around Sept 2010. They're all tagged with "DE" so you should be able to find them in the archives. Also, feel free to email me at gwinne (at) yahoo (dot) com
