Purely Rhetorical (2dp5dt)

When will the compulsive use of HPTs begin?

No Ovidrel, no reason to wait. I'm going to be a crazy wreck either way.

Beta in 10 days (12dp5dt).

  1. OK, so when will the research begin into how soon people typically get positive HPTs after 5-day transfers?

For the record, I got a faint positive seven days later in the first instance, and six days later the second time around. I had no symptoms the first time and literally did not believe the repeated positive HPTs; it was only the voice of medical authority (the beta) that convinced me it wasn't just a series of defective HPTs or my eyes playing tricks on me.

Weirdly, for son #2, I had a feeling that it had worked only 3 1/2 days later, when I momentarily had a sensation that reminded me of breastfeeding let-down. It was the strangest thing, and I still don't know how or if it could connect with implantation or slight hormonal shifts. But I didn't just imagine it, and it gave me a sense of calm that is completely at odds with my obsessive temperament.

Wishing for calm for you, in whatever way you can find it. My vote is for waiting until Thursday to start testing.

  2. Do whatever you need to do to feel relaxed.. if you need to POAS, do it. I like to POAS to mentally prepare myself when I get that beta call from the nurse.

I'm keeping you and those embies in my thoughts...

  3. I have a bunch of store HPT's but I ordered a bunch of cheapies. I started using them Friday (5dp3dt) to verify the trigger was out of my system, it is. At this point I plan to POAS daily, but I reserve the right to change my mind.

    Good Luck!!

  4. Right here with you, waiting for you to pee...

And yeah, it's probably too early, but I liked to begin POAS when I KNEW it was too early, so that the first, horrible negative wasn't also a horrible surprise.

    I know. Makes no sense.

Can't wait to see your first positive.
