Small Good Things (5w2d)

  1. Did you catch the title? I can actually still write that. 5w2d.

  2. Against all blood-letting evidence, there was indeed a sac in my uterus, measuring just slightly behind (in my mind) but which, according to Dr. G, spot on meets ultrasound benchmark. She said she couldn't have seen more encouraging evidence. There's a tiny thing that she thinks is an early yolk sac, and a nearly microscopic black spot in my uterus that she thinks is The Twin That Has Wreaked All Kinds of Havoc. The real sac has evidence of [doctor speak I don't remember] that means a nice solid implantation.

  3. The quote of the year from Dr. Gorgeous: I think there's a little peanut in there. Although I am not one for sappy embryo nicknames (I mean, I called LG "The Little Alien" for a very long time), I think this one's sticking.

  4. I've got repeat beta tomorrow, another ultrasound scheduled for Thursday and then, if we get that far, a check on Tuesday (6w2d) for heartbeat. And I thought I was monitored closely with LG...

  5. I know I could be crushed again tomorrow. But right now, I've got a peanut sized bit of hope.

  3. Oh blessed relief. I have been waiting all day for your update. (I realize my own sense of relief is only, well, peanut-sized compared to what you must be feeling.) Onward to Thursday.
